In my blog post from July 12, 2021 entitled “Suits Me to a Tea”, I mentioned that I have been a lover, connoisseur, and appreciator of herbal beverages since I was a teenager. When written, I had 12 brands and 21 varieties of camellia sinensis in our pantry. But like any enthusiast, my collection has grown since then. I now have three new brands and five more types! It seems I just can’t get enough of this comforting elixir as I am continually exploring different flavors, kinds, and purveyors of tea.
From my journal: April 13, 2024, Newbury Park, California
“Ah..my Republic of Tea order arrived! …“calming” and “wellness” teas…can’t wait to try them all!”

Not only do I adore how each cup enlivens my senses, the warmth of a mug in my hands, the enticing aromas wafting about while steeping, and the tastes I savor with each sip, but some offer yet another delight. When I choose a Yogi, Traditional Medicinal, or Bigelow, just to name a few, the words written on their tags, tag lines if you will, inspire me and add to this already pleasurable experience.
For years I have kept tea bag tags thinking I would make a collage of them. Maybe, I still will. But in the meantime, here are some of my favorites.
Strength does not lie in what you have, it lies in what you give.
Appreciate yourself and honor your soul.
Gratitude leads to love.
Every neighbor can be your teacher.
Happiness comes from contentment.
Your intuition is your best friend.
Live in your strength.
Peace of mind comes piece by piece.
The gate to happiness is self-compassion.
One minute of laughing equals one hour of life.
Love your soul.
The beauty of life is to experience yourself.
Use your head to live with your heart.
Love has no fear and no vengeance.
A garden is a delight to the ye and a solace for the soul.

Return to the root of your soul.
Empty yourself and let the universe fill you.
Your heartbeat is the rhythm of your soul.
Be proud of who you are.
A relaxed mind is a creative mind.
Life is a chance. Love is infinite. Grace is reality.
Practice kindness, compassion, and caring.
Solve one problem and a hundred disappear.
Travel light, live light, spread the light, be the light.
Soul is the highest self.
True understanding is found through compassion.
Always be pure, simple, and kind.
Give happiness and you will be happy.
You only give when you live.
You are unlimited.
Real happiness lies in that which never comes, nor goes, but simply is.
Just reading these tidbits of wisdom, stirs me to head to the kitchen, choose a tea bag, drop it into a mug, put the kettle on and wait for it to boil. Then I’ll look forward to steeping my tea and myself into some inspiration…tea-riffic!
